2020 - telekinesis
What i'm thinking is an implanted microchip into the brain (neurotechnology) that allows the participant to interact with surrounding terminals (computers etc) wirelessly. Anything that can be controlled by a computer could therefore (in theory) be controlled by the brain. No more typing or using a mouse. The challenge is coming up with a scenario where by this wouldn't be beneficial.

Duane Michals
Suggestion of subject (in this case two pairs of glasses), represented by the shadows cast on the page. Could be two academics scrutinising a piece of poetry. The glasses signify magnification and clarity - Subtle. Good tonal range, true blacks and near whites. would like to see an actual print.

Daft Punk - One more time
The most incredible live music experience i've ever witnessed. Loads of footage on You tube but "One more time" is the best example of the top notch lighting effects complimenting the music to create a rich "multimedia" experience. Absolutely amazing. Would reccomend them to anybody.

Jan Tschichold
Der Berufsphotograph 1938
Tschicold wrote "Die neue Typography" which is still considered by graphic designers to be quite an authority on layout and font design. Although this particular piece was produced in 1938 it still looks fresh as a daisy and wouldn't look out of place today.
Tschichold was part of the "Bauhaus" an arts academy based in Berlin - top notch groundbreaking designers, so threatening to the establishment the Nazi's shut it down 1933.
Note the heavy useage of negative space and san serif font, so so typical of the Bauhaus style. I also like the use of colour juxtaposed onto a black and white background. Really stands out for me, can't imagine the impact it must have had back in the 1930's.

This is the front cover of New Orders most famous single Blue Monday designed by one of my favourite designers Peter Saville. There will be lots of his work appearing on this blog. Saville was part of a social experiment collectively known as Factory Records headed bt the late great Tony Wilson.
Each piece of work produced by Factory was catalogued with a number (FAC - followed by the numeric order it was created, in this case FAC 73). Saville based this design on a 5.25 - inch floppy discs which were used to record the music electronically, drawing a parallel between the advanced nature of the disc and the track itself.
Due to the use of die-cutting and specified colours meant the production cost of the sleeve was so high that the single sold at a loss.
What a complete FAC up!
