First attempt, although pan was ok but zoomed out instead of in - schoolboy error. Also think the action is a bit jerky as i changed viewing method from the tripod protractor doing it mathematically and actually through the viewfinder and eyeing it up.
Because there aren't enough increments on the tripod to move the camera in a smooth motion i have opted to do it all through the view finder, using the measures on the tripod to initially calibrate it.

also think it looks a bit odd starting the zoom mid pan so am going to zoom from the beginning to give a much smoother ride.
