Supinfocom

Had a look on the Bradforrd Film Festival website, which pointed me in the direction of Supinfocom a French Animation studio.

Really relevant to what i'm proposing to do in my advert. Throughout my research i have been given the distinct impression that Mindstorm is used by budding and established engineers an opportunity to compete against each other, testing their build and computer programming skills; pacified robot wars. Not only are there competitions for school children there's many examples of video evidence suggesting Mindstorm allows the opportunity for the mature enthusiast to showcase their talent to fellow contestants.

My proposal wil feature two contestants, one will be a young boy, the other a male father figure pitting their wits against each other in the ultimate battle of strategy; a game of chess.

I've been deliberating over the last week for an appropriate visual style and believe that the above animation is the sort of sylistic glue i've been searching for.

The typography depicts the competitive nature of the animation, reminiscent of the American Highscool/College lettering symbolising the fierce college rivalry that ensues. Like the cartoon style, clean and simple so as not to distract the action; this advert is only 45 seconds long so the salient information has to be the most prominent.

Music is good, if not a little sinister for a little father son contest; i was thinking about something a little more playful (see theme music for Flight of the Choncords).
