I went to see the Sex pistols at the Brixton Academy on the 10th November last year, took my camera along, got right to the front and got some pretty good images on John Lydon in the flesh (despite my camera being a bag of shite). So what i was thinking was to incorporate these photographs in this screen and print brief which explicitly states we are to use "self-originated content in your final designs".
I've read some very good reviews in the independant, that will appear later on this blog, and looked at some provocative footage on You Tube. What i wish to discuss in my 500 or so words is the relationship i have to punk and the pistols. The art work, the music and the fashion had a massive influence on post punk culture- notably what happened in Manchester afterwards, concerning Factory Records, The Smiths, Stone Roses, acid house music, etc I want to identify these influences and relate them back to my own personal experiences.
